 | | Randolph Heights 1920 (Click on picture to enlarge) | Randolph Heights has a long tradition of academic excellence and high expectations for student achievement. Strong parent and community involvement begins early with parents of the youngest learners in our pre-kindergarten program and continues well after their children have finished sixth grade.
Since 1916, the school has established itself as a small, neighborhood school committed to educating a diverse student population. In addition to solid language arts and math programs, students are taught the Core Knowledge Curriculum in the areas of American and world history, geography, music, and visual arts. The Core Knowledge Curriculum emphasizes what students need to know to become well-educated, well-rounded learners. It is a solid, specific, shared core curriculum designed to
help students establish strong foundations of knowledge. Knowledge is
power and the great social equalizer. We believe in giving our students the tools they need to be
competent, successful and productive citizens in a democratic society.
To learn more about Core Knowledge, visit the website at www.coreknowledge.org.
Students are also taught science, art, technology, and physical education by full-time specialists. Vocal music is offered to students in all grades and band is offered to students in grades five and six. Students in all grades perform musical productions during the school year.
Students are tutored in small groups to enhance and enrich classroom learning. The Schoolwide Enrichment Model (SEM) program is supported by a full-time gifted and talented specialist to provide additional learning opportunities that give students additional challenges to raise achievement in all academic areas.
