SEM-inar classes are held for students who share a common interest over
a period of time, under the direction of the Gifted Services specialist
or parent volunteers. Examples of SEM-inar classes include the
quilting class, taught by two master quilters, writing essays for the
MINDWORKS program sponsored by the StarTribune newspaper, a school
newspaper class, and a presentation by a snake owner!
Students in grades fourth through sixth are involved in the Student
Council, which allows students with leadership ability to shine. There
is a general election of officers and an individual homeroom election of
representatives. The Student Council meets on a regular basis to plan
and carry out school spirit activities and community service
projects. The activities involve the whole school as the Council works
to make Randolph Heights an even better place to be.
